Miya Liu is the Advisor of Interlude Musical Outreach.
Miya joined Interlude as a club member in 2018. Since then, Miya stayed as an active volunteer in Interlude and dedicated her time as a club publicist in 2019 and the Marketing Director in 2020, optimizing publicity blasts to our volunteers, students, and parents to ensure every student has the opportunity for private music lessons. Miya will continue reaching out to schools and directors to further expand the organization and assist more students in getting a jumpstart on their musical journey.
Miya is currently a freshman at Northwestern University. She has performed as a solo violinist in countries such as France, China, and the US. She has been an active member of ensembles including the Pacific Symphony Youth Orchestra, CASMEC All-State Symphony and String Orchestra, Northwood Philharmonic Orchestra, and the IUSD Honor Orchestra. She studies violin with Dennis Kim, concertmaster of the Pacific Symphony, and received a full scholarship to the 2020 Interlochen Music Festival.
Besides performing in orchestras, Miya dedicates herself to inspire young musicians and give back to the community through concerts, lessons, and workshops. She is also determined to provide educational resources to students across the world as she leads organizations dedicated to breaking language barriers and cultural differences.
