Chairman of the Board

Zachary Huang-Ogata

Zachary Huang-Ogata is the Chairman of Interlude Musical Outreach.

Zachary joined the executive board back in 2017 as the Vice President of Operations before being named the Executive Director in 2018. Since then, he has expanded Interlude’s operations and reach of educators, students, and volunteers by over five-fold across the nation. With an emphasis on scaling and strategy, Zachary has concentrated his efforts on leading operations for Interlude’s free music lesson program since its inception. He also piloted the launch of MUSICfromHOME, a free and virtual music lesson program for students impacted by COVID-19.

Zachary is an alumni of Northwood High School and currently studying at the University of Pennsylvania. He has been playing viola for the past 8 years and has participated in orchestras such as the NAfME All-National Symphony Orchestra, MFA Honor Orchestra of America, HPS Honor Orchestra, and California All-State Symphony and String Orchestras. Outside of orchestral work, Zachary enjoys mentoring, teaching, and working with musicians through performances, recording sessions, and other workshops and events for youth.

Aside from music, Zachary is a member of the Board of Advisors for several nonprofit-led initiatives and an active member in giving back to his community. He plans on studying and exploring the intersection of engineering and business through corporate sustainability and strategy.
